Velocys technology is specifically designed for smaller scales, combining super-active catalysts with microchannel reactors that are at the heart of smaller scale gas-to-liquids (GTL) and biomass-to-liquids (BTL).
Our Fischer-Tropsch (FT) technology is commercially available and we are working to develop microchannel reactor technology for steam methane reforming (SMR). The products of the FT process, and their properties, are also discussed in this section.
With over 26,000 claims in more than 900 patents worldwide, Velocys has the world's largest microchannel patent portfolio. Our patent portfolio continues to grow; 75 new patents were granted in 2013. Over $300 million has been invested in our technology, primarily by commercial partners.
