Customized Facilities
Velocys occupies a 27,000 square-foot building specifically constructed for the development, testing and scale-up of energy and chemical processes. Our facilities are designed to accommodate activities ranging from catalyst screening tests up to pilot plant operations. The infrastructure includes:
- 12 walk-in ventilated test enclosures
- Covered outdoor facility for pilot plant operation
- Bulk gas-delivery systems for nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and natural gas
- Redundant air compressor systems
- Uninterruptible power supply for test enclosures
- Advanced data acquisition and control systems
- State-of-the-art safety systems
Dedicated Testing Systems
A number of dedicated systems have been installed in the test enclosures to support reactor testing and process demonstrations. These include tube furnaces, precision controlled oil circulators, mass flow controllers, heaters and precision high-pressure pumps. Velocys also has a state-of-the-art catalyst development and characterization laboratory, and catalyst scale-up facilities.
