An Innovation Approach
Dr. Jan Lerou leads Velocys' Catalyst Development Team, which specializes in formulating, optimizing and applying catalytic materials in microchannel devices. This team of chemists and chemical engineers works closely with established suppliers to adapt commercially available catalysts to meet the performance requirements of Velocys reactors. They have developed several forms of catalysts including powders, washcoats and inserted engineered forms, and successfully demonstrated the ability to uniformly situate these catalysts in the thousands of parallel microchannels present in each reactor.
