Dr. Lee Tonkovich leads technology development effort at Velocys. Her team is responsible for developing all microchannel hardware, and they have made a number of substantial advances in the areas of component design, flow distribution, and design for manufacturability.
Lee joined Battelle in 1992. During her six years in microreaction technology there, she led the development efforts on numerous projects for the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Defense, and private industrial clients. Her team was awarded an R&D100 award in 1999 for a microchannel technology product - Compact Microchannel Gasoline Vaporizer. She holds 50 patents in this field and has more than two dozen applications pending. Lee has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
